IGES Launches Discovering Careers Reading List

Earth Science Week 2012, an annual celebration of the study of our planet that will take place the third week of October, is less than a month away and once more IGES is playing a key role.

This year’s theme, “Discovering Careers in the Earth Sciences,” allows students to explore the many career paths available in the geosciences field from the eyes of the Earth Explorers themselves.

Organized by reading level (elementary, middle school and high school), this list is sure to open the eyes of students of all ages to the adventures that grow our understanding of how the planet works – whether in the frozen continent in the South Pole, the depth of the oceans or the edge of volcanoes!
