IGES President Nancy Colleton is quoted in a February 26 article on Climate Central discussing the potential consequences of sequestration on U.S. weather and climate satellite programs.

In “Budget Cuts May Degrade Weather, Climate Forecasting,” written by Climate Central’s Andrew Freedman, Colleton is quoted as saying that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) satellites “are our first line of defense for climate change.” She also talks about these assets as risk-management tools and said this should be a key consideration in the development of an Obama Administration climate strategy.
