Beyond the Bite

One of the goals of the GLOBE Mission Mosquito campaign is to build awareness of some of the most common mosquito-borne diseases.
This guide, “Beyond the Bite,” is designed to meet that goal. Part I offers guidelines for using this resource. Part II provides an introduction to the biology, pathology, and history of mosquito-borne diseases. Part III lists relevant vocabulary terms. Part IV begins with a “quick-reference” table, followed by individual entries on seven mosquito-borne diseases, including chikungunya, dengue, eastern equine encephalitis, malaria, West Nile virus, yellow fever, and Zika virus.
