Earth Science Week Activity Calendar 2025-2026
Earth Science Week is hosted by the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) in the middle of October each year. AGI puts together an Earth Science Week Toolkit with contributions from the community, including posters, bookmarks, lessons, postcards, and a school year calendar containing monthly activities.
In support of the Earth Science Activity Calendar for the 2025-2026 School Year, IGES collaborated with the ESIP Education committee to create the July 2026 activity. Using interactive datasets from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (eia) students investigate energy consumption and contributions to CO2 emissions over time. Students make a claim supported by energy data as evidence to argue for one strategy to reduce CO2 emissions in the future.
